Welcome to CSUN's
society of women engineers
The Society of Women Engineers, founded in 1950, is a not-for-profit educational and service organization in the United States. SWE has over 37,000 members in nearly 100 professional sections and 300 student sections throughout the United States.
California State University's chapter of Society of Women Engineers know that a woman is more than a diversity quota: she is a necessary and viable asset in all science, technology, engineering, and math-driven fields.
CSUN SWE strives to:
Empower women to achieve their goals along their respective career paths
Be the driving force that establishes these careers as highly desirable for women
Recognize the achievements of women within these traditionally male dominated fields
Challenge negative perceptions against girls and women in STEM fields
Aspire to the highest level of ethical behavior in personal and professional relationships and responsibilities
Embrace diversity in its broadest interpretation and commit to creating an inclusive environment for all our members and stakeholders
Conduct activities in a professional manner, demonstrating and demanding the highest standards of business practices
Provide an organization that fosters mentoring, and the development of professional and personal networks
Share a common definition of success with open, transparent access to information, building mutual respect and confidence
