Outreach Programs

CSUN SWE strives to outreach, motivate and assist elementary school, middle school, high school and community college students, cultivating future careers or interests in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) fields. We do this (or hope to do this) by holding campus tours geared towards engineering, visiting local schools to promote curiosity/interest in engineering, and providing hands on activities relating to engineering.

Hale Charter Middle School

Time: 8:00am - 12:30pm

ASCE is helping out at HALE Charter Middle School this Friday, Oct. 6th from 8:00 am - 12:30 pm. "We will be dealing with a total of 150 students (40 students at a time for 1 hour each). If you are available, please help out. Even if you cannot stay the entire time, it would be appreciated. We are helping teach the future engineers!

Fall 2017: NASA Night

Time: 5:30pm-8:00pm

Celebrating STEAM, Vintage Math, Science and Technology Magnet School is hosting their annual NASA Night Friday October 6, 2017. This year's Keynote speaker is William Munsch,  THAAD DACS Program Director from Aerojet Rocketdyne, a leading company in aerospace and defense markets. Throughout the night other sessions will be offered: Spacey Cassini Family Photos, Optical Illusion,The Magic of Science, Pumpkin Structures, Rockhounds, Southwest Herpetologist, Mad Science, Dome, Chalk Stencil Pumpkin Art and us, Society of Women Engineers.

Festival of Computer Science at CSUN
