I was born in Mexico and moved to the US at age 15. Since then I been adapting to a new culture and language. But besides the struggles I been able to succeed and move forward in my educational goals. My goals in SWE are to learn from other women who also had their struggles and eventually inspire young Latin women to choose careers in STEM.

I am currently studying to become a mechanical engineer. I’ve always been curious about science and interested in engineering. I started taking STEM classes in high school and that’s where my curiosity for science sparked. I’ve always done my best to get experience in the engineering realm and my goal as a SWE board member is to inspire other girls to be part of STEM.

I’m a senior civil engineering student graduating this spring. This is my first time on the SWE Board and I am very excited to be part of such a powerful group of women. My goal this year is to meet more women in STEM and to bring a bigger SWE presence to the CSUN campus. I am very excited for all the events we have planned!
